The Organization
ActionAid is an independent organization with 45 offices worldwide and operations in 75 countries.
Thanks to our federation, we are able to operate in numerous local contexts globally, bringing technical expertise and solid experience in large-scale projects.
We ensure the efficient implementation of our projects through established procedures, transparency, full compliance and actions aligned with local needs and specificities.
The ActionAid Switzerland was legally established on 18 February 2013 in Lugano and is registered in the Commercial Register of the Canton of Ticino.
He is the legal representative of the association and ensures the fulfillment of all administrative and legal obligations. Appointed by the Board of Directors from among the members of the Board, all elected by the Members’ Assembly. His term lasts 3 years and is always renewable. He presides over the Board of Directors and the Members’ Assembly, which he convenes and coordinates.
Giulio Gianetti (President) – Sara Bertolai – Lorenzo Eusepi – Katia Scannavini – Chiara Colombo. It is the body that administers the association and decides on the admission of new Members. It must be composed of a minimum of one and a maximum of five members, who remain in office for 3 years and are always eligible for re-election. According to the Statute, the Board of Directors meets at least once every 6 months, or whenever the President deems it appropriate or a request is made by the majority of its members.
ActionAid International Italia E.T.S. – Sara Bertolai – Lorenzo Eusepi – Katia Scannavini – Chiara Colombo. It is the supreme body of the association and as such determines its political and programmatic guidelines, identifying the directions and general objectives considered necessary to achieve the statutory purposes. It meets at least once a year to approve the budget and whenever a justified request is made. The Members’ Assembly is convened with the presence of at least half plus one of the Members and decides by the majority of votes of those present. Each member has the right to one vote.
The auditor is elected annually by the Shareholders’ Meeting to check the association’s accounts. Currently, the auditor is the Trust Company Ladif SA.
