Every day many women in the world suffer from violence. Physical, psychological, economic and urban violence. It happens everywhere to women of all ages: these women have the right to rebel themselves against violence.
Every day, thanks to the support of ActionAid, many women manage to abandon a past of violence to face a future of security and freedom.
On the occasion of the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women", we at ActionAid want to remember how important is the role that each of us plays in this important battle, and to thank all the ActionAid supporters, who with their contribution donate every day the real possibility of a future free of violence for many women.
Thanks to our donors, we have achieved the following successes:
- More than 400,000 women in 27 countries have mobilized against violence against women and girls.
- In India, in the Gauravi center, we have followed more than 600 cases of abused women and registered more than 9 thousand reports of violence. More than 37,000 phone calls and help requests have reached the center.
- We work in 17 countries worldwide to combat early marriage.
- We have implemented 1,080 community projects in support of women.
