ActionAid is an independent organization founded in the UK in 1972. For over 50 years, we have been committed to fighting poverty, social exclusion, violence against women, and climate change. As a federation, we have 45 offices around the world and are active in over 70 countries.
ActionAid Switzerland was founded in 2013 in Lugano and is registered in the Ticino Commercial Register.
We work alongside the most vulnerable and marginalized communities in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Europe to overcome poverty and social exclusion.
We adopt a human rights-based approach and ensure communities are at the center of our actions. We aim to amplify the voices of people and their rights.
You can support our project Fight For Women with a recurring or one-time donation to stand with women around the world. Just 1 CHF a day helps us combat all forms of gender-based violence, from the most brutal to the most hidden and insidious.

ActionAid Switzerland was legally established on February 18, 2013, in Lugano, with the aim of fighting poverty and social exclusion worldwide. Since then, we have raised funds and supported many people and projects around the world. You can consult our annual report at any time to find all the details about our activities.
We use your contribution to implement concrete actions based on the priorities defined by our local teams.
As a federation, we allocate 70% of funds to the countries and communities we support. The remaining 30% is used for awareness campaigns and organizational costs.
Yes! In many Swiss cantons, donations to ActionAid can be deducted from your tax return. Each year, we will send you a donation receipt that you can use for this purpose.
