{"id":2037,"date":"2022-04-24T18:43:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-24T16:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/actionaid.ch\/?post_type=story&#038;p=2037"},"modified":"2026-03-24T11:03:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-24T10:03:04","slug":"kateryna","status":"publish","type":"story","link":"https:\/\/actionaid.ch\/en\/story\/kateryna\/","title":{"rendered":"Kateryna takes care of her child"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Kateryna*, aged 52, has left Ukraine with her 14-year-old daughter Liliya* who has severe cerebral palsy and needs 24\/7 care<\/strong>. They have traveled with a woman called Inna* who is helping mothers and their children with disabilities to get out of Ukraine and access the support they need in Poland and other countries.<\/p>\n<p>Kateryna and Liliya hid in a basement when the sirens started but <strong>the conditions were too hard to take care of Liliya\u2019s needs<\/strong> &#8211; it was difficult to even carry her wheelchair down there.<\/p>\n<p>Kateryna has four other children who are all over 20 years old and have stayed in Ukraine.
