The successes achieved by ActionAid have been possible thanks to the contribution of our donors in Switzerland and in the world. With this annual report we want to tell you &#8211; our supporters and partners for change &#8211; some of the important results that we have reached together during 2017.<\/div>\n      \n            <div class=\"description\"><p><strong>The main results achieved at a global level are the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>For the right to food:<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>103,300 people<\/strong>\u00a0have increased their control over land and natural resources.<\/li>\n<li>More than\u00a0<strong>110,000 farmers<\/strong>\u00a0have started cultivating using sustainable farming techniques.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For a democratic participation and accountability<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>790 local governments<\/strong>\u00a0improved accountability towards their communities;<\/li>\n<li><strong>150 coalitions<\/strong>\u00a0were organised and campaigns were conducted to strengthen fiscal justice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4>For the right to education<strong>:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Schools in\u00a0<strong>4,650 communities<\/strong>\u00a0show significant advances in the right to education;<\/li>\n<li><strong>68,000 people<\/strong>\u00a0raised their awareness on the importance of the right to education.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4>In response to emergencies:<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ActionAid has intervened in\u00a0<strong>30 emergencies in 30 countries<\/strong>, carrying out activities related to prevention, training and response to natural disasters and conflicts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>555,000 people<\/strong>\u00a0received humanitarian assistance in respect of human rights and\u00a0<strong>45,500 women<\/strong>\u00a0and men in 17 countries are now in a position to develop a risk reduction and prevention plan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<h4>On women\u2019s rights:<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>32,000 women<\/strong>\u00a0were mobilised against gender-based violence;<\/li>\n<li><strong>1,080 communities<\/strong>\u00a0now protect women and girls from harmful traditional practices;<\/li>\n<li><strong>55,200 women<\/strong>\u00a0claim to have more control over their income and greater negotiating power within their family.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The biggest thank you goes to all our Swiss donors and activists, who have chosen to fight on our side against poverty and social injustice, together with thousands of donors and activists in more than 45 countries in the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n      \n      \n            <div class=\"attachments\">\n                  <div class=\"attachment mb-4\">   \n            <a href=\"https:\/\/actionaid.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Bilancio-2017_ch.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">\n              <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-fluid me-1 icon-download\" src=\"https:\/\/actionaid.ch\/wp-content\/themes\/actionaid\/public\/build\/assets\/icon-download-hKxZcR7I.svg\" alt=\"Download file\">\n              \n              Budget 2017\n            <\/a>\n          <\/div>\n                  <div class=\"attachment mb-4\">   \n            <a href=\"https:\/\/actionaid.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/Annualreport-CH2017-ENG.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">\n              <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"img-fluid me-1 icon-download\" src=\"https:\/\/actionaid.ch\/wp-content\/themes\/actionaid\/public\/build\/assets\/icon-download-hKxZcR7I.svg\" alt=\"Download file\">\n              \n              Annual Report 2017\n            <\/a>\n          <\/div>\n              <\/div>\n          \n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":1959,"menu_order":60,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-3435","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v25.9 -
