Every year more than 300 million people are affected by natural disasters or involved in conflicts.<\/h2>\n \n
\n

Many countries where ActionAid works, such as Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Afghanistan, Haiti, Pakistan, India, the Gaza Strip and Syria, are or have recently been theatres of war or natural disasters.<\/p>\n

In all these situations ActionAid works on a long-term basis<\/strong>, with the aim of encouraging social and economic reconstruction<\/strong>, not limiting itself to humanitarian intervention but intervening on the causes that led to the disaster or conflict or that made them so devastating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n \n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We are therefore committed to giving the victims greater security, involving them directly in the construction<\/strong> and defining with them lasting paths of development<\/strong>, regardless of identity, gender or religion.<\/p>\n

The theme of human security<\/strong> is declined in three areas:<\/p>\n
