A catastrophic flood has hit central and northern Nepal<\/strong>, causing deaths, people to go missing and widespread destruction across several communities.<\/p>\n The death toll has exceeded 1,000<\/strong>, while more than 4,500 people are missing<\/strong>\u2014a number that continues to rise. Around 317,000 people have been affected and 40,000 have been forced to leave their homes.<\/p>\n ActionAid has been working in Nepal since 1982<\/strong><\/span> and has intervened in the past to provide emergency assistance following floods and earthquakes in the country.
