Today, 1 person in every 70 needs urgent emergency assistance. This number is rising due to the impact of global climate crisis.

We know that we cannot prevent natural disasters from happening, but we can make sure that the people most at risk are better prepared to respond to them. Our approach is based on three principles:

We want women to be at the center of humanitarian responses.

We work to ensure that communities are heard

We are committed before, during and after emergencies to ensure that authorities listen to the voices of the communities at risk.

can save the lives of 100 children, through a hurricane emergency preparedness course.

5’000 CHF

can provide health and sanitary kits to 1,000 families affected by an emergency.

15’000 CHF

can fund 7 reception centres where women receive support after an emergency.

25’000 CHF

can provide training for 1,640 people on how to prepare in the event of an emergency.

We use your contribution to implement concrete actions based on the priorities defined by our local teams.

As a federation, we allocate 90% of funds to the countries and communities we support. The remaining 10% is used for awareness campaigns and organizational costs.

ActionAid Switzerland was legally established on February 18, 2013, in Lugano, with the aim of fighting poverty and social exclusion worldwide.
