Im kleinen Dorf Kerr Malick Nana im Herzen des Distrikts Upper Nuimi in Gambia\u00a0weckt die<\/strong>\u00a0Geschichte von Binta Magasa neue Hoffnung und zeigt, dass Ver\u00e4nderung m\u00f6glich ist<\/strong>. Einst von Armut und fehlenden Ressourcen betroffen, ist Binta heute ein Beispiel daf\u00fcr, was gezielte Unterst\u00fctzung<\/strong>\u00a0und\u00a0Entschlossenheit<\/strong>\u00a0bewirken k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n

Binta hat vier Kinder und einen Ehemann, der wegen einer Behinderung nicht arbeiten kann. Sie musste daher die ganze Familie allein ern\u00e4hren<\/strong>. Ihre Arbeit war auf kleine Parzellen beschr\u00e4nkt, die gerade so ausreichten, um ihre Liebsten zu ern\u00e4hren.<\/p>\n

\u201eIch habe jahrelang davon getr\u00e4umt, mein Land zu bewirtschaften, aber ich hatte weder die Werkzeuge noch das Geld, um damit anzufangen. Ich musste immer warten, bis die anderen fertig waren, um ihre Ger\u00e4te benutzen zu k\u00f6nnen. Oft konnte ich es mir auch gar nicht leisten.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Das \u00e4nderte sich, als\u00a0ActionAid<\/strong>\u00a0 zusammen mit dem Zentrum f\u00fcr Entwicklung nachhaltiger Landwirtschaft, Dalaba Climate Resilient Sustainable<\/strong>\u00a0Agriculture Training Centre <\/strong>aktiv wurde:\u00a0 Junge Menschen in Gambia werden ausgebildet und erhalten so neue Zukunftsperspektiven.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Binta bekam landwirtschaftliche Werkzeuge und einen Esel<\/strong>. Dadurch konnte sie zum ersten Mal mehr als\u00a0einen Hektar Land<\/strong>\u00a0bewirtschaften. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201eIch hatte beschlossen, dieses Jahr nichts anzubauen, weil ich es mir nicht leisten konnte. Aber die Unterst\u00fctzung von ActionAid hat mich nicht nur umgestimmt, sie hat mein ganzes Leben ver\u00e4ndert<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Das Ergebnis war, gelinde gesagt, ein wahres Wunder. Fr\u00fcher erntete Binta gerade einmal drei S\u00e4cke Erdn\u00fcsse. Heute kann sie dank der Unterst\u00fctzung 15 S\u00e4cke ernten und zus\u00e4tzlich Hirse anbauen.\u00a0<\/strong>Sie hat nun keine Angst mehr, dass ihre Familie Hunger leiden muss.<\/p>\n

\u201eDie Hirse, die ich geerntet habe, reicht f\u00fcr zehn Monate. Das war noch nie zuvor der Fall, denn normalerweise hat\u00a0 sie f\u00fcr h\u00f6chstens drei Monate gereicht\u201c\u00bb\u00a0<\/em>erz\u00e4hlte sie mit strahlendem L\u00e4cheln.<\/p>\n

Dieser Erfolg\u00a0<\/strong>hat so viel mehr bewirkt, als nur ihr Lager\u00a0 zu f\u00fcllen:\u00a0Er hat Binta und ihre Familie aus \u00a0der Armut befreit.<\/strong>
\nIn nur zwei Jahren hat sich ihr Schicksal ver\u00e4ndert<\/strong>.\u00a0\u201eIch lebe nicht mehr nur von Almosen. Jetzt f\u00fchle ich mich stark, unabh\u00e4ngig und bin voller Hoffnung. ActionAid hat nicht nur meiner Farm geholfen, sondern meine ganze Geschichte neu geschrieben.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n

Heute ist\u00a0Bintas wachsende Farm ein Leuchtturm der Hoffnung<\/strong> und beweist, was m\u00f6glich ist, wenn Gemeinschaften die richtige Unterst\u00fctzung erhalten. Bintas Erfolg zeigt, dass es nicht viel braucht, um Potenziale freizusetzen und Leben zu ver\u00e4ndern.<\/p>\n

Wie Binta selbst mit aufrichtiger Dankbarkeit sagt:
